After last week’s double elimination in the semifinals, just four celebrity candidates remained: Shangela, The Bachelorette’s Gabby Windey, TikTok favourite Charli D’Amelio, and actor Wayne Brady.

During the final, the four surviving competitors and their professional partners performed two performances. Each pair performed a “redemption dance” and a freestyle performance.

Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro recapped the season’s major highlights, and eliminated candidates returned to dance.

Selma Blair and Sasha Farber returned only weeks after Blair, 50, was forced to quit the competition to concentrate on her health.

Len Goodman said on November 14 that he was quitting the programme after 31 seasons to spend more time with his family in the U.K.

Cheryl Burke, 38, performed her farewell dance after 26 seasons on the programme.

Shangela told Newsweek that she and Savchenko’s finale performance would be “very huge,” and they did not disappoint.

Brady, Carson

Brady and Carson redid their quickstep. They performed to Jackie Wilson’s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” and received 36/40.

The duo’s freestyle to Ciara ft. Chamillionaire / Bruno Mars’ “Get Up / 24K Magic” got a standing ovation from the audience, including Brady’s daughter, and a flawless 40/40 from the judges.

Charli and Mark

TikTok’s D’Amelio and Ballas performed their jive to amazing acclaim.

Little Mix’s “Grown” was the winning routine.

D’Amelio and Ballas danced to “Us Again” by Pinar Toprak for their freestyle.

Val Chmerkovskiy, Gabby Windey

Windey and Chmerkovskiy had flawless finals scores.

First, they danced to Pete Rodriguez’s “I Like It Like That” and then to Chicago’s “Cell Block Tango” for their freestyle.

Who won DWTS 2022?

The final results followed the performances.

D’Amelio, Ballas, Windey, and Chmerkovskiy tied for first with perfect 80/80s, while Brady, Carson, Shangela, and Savchenko tied with 76/80s.

Shangela and Savchenko finished fourth, with Brady and Carson in third, according to Banks and Ribeiro.

The hosts selected D’Amelio and Ballas as Season 31 winners after calling it “one of the tightest finales in programme history.”

D’Amelio praised her dancing partner after winning: “We appreciate the chance. Mark, thanks for being my buddy.”

She also acknowledged her mom, Heidi, stating, “It was an honour to accomplish this with you.”
