Overwatch 2

When Overwatch 2 will launch and Overwatch 1 will end

The day after Overwatch 1 is shut down, Overwatch 2 will be released.

It’s unusual to have a game end and its sequel start in a little more than 24 hours, but Blizzard’s strategy is intended to see its whole community change from one game to another.

It’s a bittersweet week for Overwatch lovers, but here is the Overwatch 1 shutdown time so you can squeeze in one last game before playing the upcoming Overwatch 2 release.

Release date of Overwatch 2: When does Overwatch 2 debut?

On Tuesday, October 4th, Overwatch 2 will be available on PC and consoles at the following launch times:

• UK: 8pm (BST) (BST)

Europe: 9 p.m. (CEST)

• US East Coast: 3 p.m. (EDT); US West Coast: 12 p.m. (PDT)

The aforementioned times, according to Blizzard, are an estimate. Due to the fact that this is a live game, it is probable that delays will occur. As a result, plan on times slipping somewhat while the finishing touches are being applied.

If you haven’t already, make a Battle.net account for new gamers and set up two factor authentication while you wait. All platforms, including consoles, must adhere to this criteria.

If you’re new, be aware that you must play 100 games in order to access the whole roster. For returning players, you’ll have immediate access to the whole roster. However, there is a new Battle Pass system to learn. Bertie has all the information you need.

If you already play Overwatch, even if you switch platforms, you can start transferring your progress from the first game into the follow-up.

Additionally, you can begin pre-loading in advance to begin playing as soon as the servers go up.

Pre-load timings and size for Overwatch 2

You can begin pre-loading Overwatch 2 in advance of its release, allowing you to get started right away when it does.

Pre-loading is currently accessible on PC, and in the hours before release on Tuesday, October 4, it becomes live for consoles at the following times:

• UK: 5pm (BST) (BST)

Europe: 6 p.m. (CEST)

• US East Coast: 12 p.m. (EDT); US West Coast: 9 a.m. (PDT)

On a PC, the download will take up about 50 GB of space; on a console, it will take up about 30 GB.

Time of server termination for Overwatch: When will Overwatch 1 be discontinued?

ADVANCE (October 4, 9:00am): Blizzard shut down the servers for Overwatch 1 as expected and on schedule. You receive a notification that Overwatch 2 is coming when you attempt to log in. Below, you can see the final moments of Overwatch, as reported by Matt Wales last night, as well as the various ways players bid goodbye.

FIRST REPORT: In contrast to earlier Activision Blizzard titles like Diablo, Call of Duty, or Destiny, the servers for the first Overwatch will be shut down on October 3rd in order to make way for the free-to-play sequel.

You won’t have to wait too long because the gap between games isn’t too long. The following are the Overwatch 1 server shutdown times in case you want to squeeze in one last game:

Europe: 6 p.m. CEST; East Coast US: 12 p.m. EDT; UK: 5 p.m. BST; West Coast US: 12 p.m. EDT US: 9am (PDT) (PDT)

The times shown above, according to Blizzard, are estimates, so it’s possible that you’ll be able to squeeze in one or two more sessions after the ones listed. Anyhow, it’s good getting in a little more playtime right away.

You should be aware that if you bought the original Overwatch, you will receive the Founder’s Pack, which will immediately unlock Kiriko and give you access to all other heroes.
