Veteran NBA player Patrick Beverley joins an Israeli squad

On social media on Tuesday afternoon, NBA veteran guard Patrick Beverley revealed that he has signed a contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
This week, Beverley, who turned 36 this week, revealed on his X account that he was between signing a deal abroad or accepting a veteran minimum NBA salary. He played in Greece and Russia to start his professional basketball career before spending the last 12 years in the NBA.

After beginning the 2023–24 season in Philadelphia, Beverley was transferred to Milwaukee in February at the trade deadline in order to rejoin head coach Doc Rivers. In 73 games the previous season, Beverley averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists on 41.7% shooting (33.7% from three).
He played in every one of the Bucks’ six postseason games until they were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the first round, as injuries plagued Milwaukee throughout the postseason.
Beverley, should he ever decide to rejoin the league, will serve a four-game ban for repeatedly hurling the ball toward Pacers supporters during Game 6 of that first-round series setback.
Since the 2021–22 season began, Beverley has played for five different teams, and he hasn’t committed to a multiyear contract since 2019.
