Tyrie Cleveland and Moro Ojomo of the Philadelphia Eagles were taken off the pitch with neck injuries.

Two Eagles players, receiver Tyrie Cleveland and rookie defensive lineman Moro Ojomo, were taken off the field in Thursday’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns after suffering neck injuries. According to the team, both athletes have mobility in their limbs.

“I haven’t talked to the doctors yet, but it sounds like they’re moving around,” said coach Nick Sirianni. “I don’t know anything else besides that.”

On the night, Philadelphia suffered a lot of injuries. After suffering an ankle injury early in the second quarter, cornerback Zech McPhearson was declared out of the game. Nolan Smith, a rookie first-round selection, and receiver Olamide Zaccheaus both left the game with shoulder injuries. Meanwhile, offensive lineman Josh Andrews departed the game in the first half with an ankle injury and did not return.

Smith, who has stood out throughout training camp, told reporters afterward that he is “feeling good” and was brought out for precautionary reasons.

McPhearson’s prospects do not seem to be as promising. After diverting a pass and collapsing, he was unable to bear any weight on his right leg. He was helped off the pitch and hauled inside.

The most terrifying moments included Cleveland, who fell on his head/neck region while trying a diving grab, and Ojomo, who looked to be struck by one of his teammates on a different play.

Both remained on the ground for a lengthy amount of time before being transported on stretchers surrounded by teammates.

“Your heart goes out to them first and foremost, and you just think about your teammate,” quarterback Marcus Mariota said. “We play a game, which is a blessing, but when these situations get this bad, it’s scary.”
