Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs was unable to present Taylor Swift with a bracelet during the Eras Tour.

Rejection feels different when delivered by Taylor Swift – just ask Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Kelce attended one of the singers’ Eras Tour gigs at Arrowhead Stadium in early July. While most concertgoers were come to enjoy the music, Kelce had another goal in mind: to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

Unfortunately for Kelce, he was unable to capture Swift (yes, that was a reference to “Catching Kelce”).

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce said on their “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason Kelce.

Kelce went on to explain why he wanted to meet the musician.

“If you’re familiar with Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I had received a lot of them, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my phone number on it,” Kelce said.

This revelation caused Jason to inquire if his brother was referring to his football number or phone number.

“You know which one,” Travis responded, smiling.

“She never meets anyone, or didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
