Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has allegedly given his approval to join Bayern Munich in a $110 million deal.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have agreed on a deal in principle for more than $110 million for England international striker Harry Kane, and the player has given his OK to the transfer. The 30-year-old has one year remaining on his current Spurs deal.

With 280 goals in all competitions, Kane is already Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer, and the Three Lions captain has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City in previous years. The Walthamstow native has been the focus of discussion in recent years, given Spurs’ departure from UEFA club tournaments.

This summer, Kane had a series of Bayern offers rejected by London club chairman Daniel Levy, but a deal in principle was ultimately struck Thursday, with the player apparently choosing Bavaria. Tottenham was always hesitant to lose its prolific striker to local rivals, which is why United and City were turned down.

Kane, on the other hand, will be a free agent next year if he does not move on soon. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was determined to preserve his talisman, and he even played in a friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk last weekend.

Kane, a three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner, has 213 league goals and is just 48 goals away from matching Alan Shearer’s record. Kane, who is also England’s top scorer with 58 goals, is eager for big trophies with club and country, which Bayern has a great heritage of winning in Germany and Europe.

The Bavarian powerhouse, now coached by former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, have 33 Bundesliga championships to their record and are 11-time consecutive German winners. Six UCL and 20 DFB Pokal crowns will also speak volumes to Kane, who is approaching his 30th birthday with Bayern still struggling to replace the prolific Robert Lewandowski.
