Black Panther

The Trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever answers the biggest mystery in the Marvel Movie

The latest Black Panther 2 teaser from Marvel leaves the biggest surprise for last, even though it’s packed with information, including our first glimpse at Ironheart and a longer preview of Namor. We finally get a glimpse of Wakanda’s new defender in the closing minutes.

The title character appeared briefly at the end of the original Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teaser, but he was so covered that all you could make out were one leg and one clawed hand from behind. We see a lot more in this new trailer. The last image shows Black Panther falling from above and landing in a traditional superhero position. A clear feminine shape concealed by the outfit and mask is seen when the camera pans up.

Who may be the new Black Panther, a female figure who is obviously present? Let’s examine the possibilities in detail.

THE NEW BLACK PANTHER IS SHURI.

Letitia Wright seems like the natural candidate to take Chadwick Boseman’s place in the role, anti-vax controversy aside. She appears to be the next in line because her character, Shuri, is a member of the Wakanda royal family and T’Challah’s brother. Her extraordinary intellect has also essentially made her a superhero in earlier films.

This notion appears to be supported by a fresh Marvel poster that debuted on October 3. It places Shuri at the center of the action. Either Black Panther 2 has unveiled its superhero, or this is a misdirection.

THE NEW BLACK PANTHER IS NAKIA.

We assumed Lupita Nyong’o would get the part after the first trailer made it seem likely. That theory isn’t precisely supported by this new trailer and poster, but it isn’t really refuted either. Nakia has the practical experience you’d need to become the Black Panther and, in any case, she’ll play a significant part in Wakanda Forever.

It’s also conceivable that several characters in Black Panther 2 will assume the role. What if the character is played by both Shuri and Nakia at various stages in the film? In relation to that…

THE NEW BLACK PANTHER IS OKOYE

Okoye, who is portrayed by Danai Gurira, is capable of being Black Panther. Although a stretch, it is certainly conceivable, especially if more than one individual wears the outfit in Black Panther 2.

THE NEW BLACK PANTHER IS QUEEN RAMONDA.

Although it’s the furthest of them all, it’s not impossible. We are aware that the Snap that destroyed T’Challah and Shuri did not harm Angela Basset’s persona. Could this be a flashback to a time during the Blip when the queen of Wakanda was forced to assume the identity of Black Panther herself? Ramonda being crowned the legendary superhero in Black Panther 2 seems improbable in either case.

On November 11, the movie BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER debuts in theatres.
