‘The Masked Singer’ Medusa Bishop Briggs’ unmasked interview: ‘This is the weirdest, best thing ever!’

After being saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” bell on “New York Night,” Medusa was determined to make it to the finals of “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday night. She battled her way back into the game, eventually beating Gargoyle and Mantis in the “Battle of the Saved.” The snake-headed singer then sung her way through the “Quarter Finals (British Invasion Night)” and eliminated California Roll in the “Semi-Finals,” the quintet that had previously defeated her.
With just Macaw standing between Medusa and the Golden Mask trophy, she sang Sia’s “Elastic Heart” and My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” for judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger. “This means a lot to me, as does the fact that I got to end my journey with my sister’s favourite song, which, sadly, she’s no longer here,” she said after the latter. It means a great deal to me. This was really beneficial to my spirit and soul. So, thank you one again.”

Towards the end of the evening, Medusa was revealed to be multi-platinum recording artist Bishop Briggs. Previous winners include T-Pain (Monster), Wayne Brady (Fox), Kandi Burruss (Night Angel), LeAnn Rimes (Sun), Nick Lachey (Piglet), Jewel (Queen of Hearts), Teyana Taylor (Firefly), and Amber Riley (Harp).
“This is the craziest, coolest thing I’ve ever seen!” “Thank you so much!” said the singer during her unmasked interview with Nick Cannon. “I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to my fierce competitor, David Archuleta.” ‘Oh no!’ I shouted when I heard your voice during soundcheck. ‘Oh yes!’ exclaims the author. This has been an odd journey, and the fact that I was able to perform an emo anthem meant so much to me. ‘Oh my gosh, look at us,’ I said as I heard David’s story. We’re a couple of emo teenagers at this point, unsure of who we are and if we want to continue. And we were successful! This has been an incredible experience.”
Prior to the reveal of Bishop, the panellists guessed who they thought was hiding beneath Medusa: Grimes (Robin), Fergie (Jenny), Susan Boyle (Ken), and Bishop Briggs (Nicole).
Medusa was announced as the 21st act from Season 9 of “The Masked Singer.” Dick Van Dyke was the Gnome, Sara Evans was the Mustang, Howie Mandel was the Rock Lobster, Debbie Gibson was the Night Owl, Grandmaster Flash was the Polar Bear, Michael Bolton was the Wolf, Malin Akerman was the Squirrel, Lele Pons was the Jackalope, Alexa Bliss was the Axolotl, Holly Robinson Peete was the Fairy, George Wendt was the Moose, Christine Quinn was the Scorpio
