Tia Mowry & Cory Hardict

The Game actor Tia Mowry has announced her separation from Cory Hardrict

She thanked her “friends, family, and fans” for their love and support as she embarks on a new chapter in her life.

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict are divorcing after fourteen years of marriage.

The actor, who is best known for playing Tia Landry in the television series “Sister, Sister,” confirmed their decision to break up in a post on Tuesday.

“I have always been open and sincere with my supporters, and today is no different. Cory and I have chosen to part ways, and I wanted to let you know,” Mowry said. These choices are seldom simple and are often difficult. As we co-parent our lovely children, we will keep our friendship intact. As we begin this new chapter in our life, I’m glad for all the good times we shared and want to thank my friends, family, and supporters for their love and encouragement.

TODAY was able to get court records indicating that Mowry filed for divorce on October 3 due to irreconcilable differences. Cree Taylor Hardrict, 11, and Cairo Tiahna Hardrict, 4, whom Mowry shares with Hardrict, are up for shared legal and physical custody.

Mowry talked to TODAY about her and Hardrict’s journey to having their daughter Cairo last year. Mowry was having trouble getting pregnant at the time that she was given the endometriosis diagnosis.

Growing up, I never heard the term “infertility.” Simply put, it wasn’t discussed with my family and friends, Mowry told TODAY. “When we are young women, all we think about is getting married and having children. You have a plan for your life, but things don’t always go as planned.

In 2017, Mowry and Hardrict shared screen time in the Oprah Winfrey Network docuseries “Black Love,” in which they discussed how they initially connected while working on a film shoot. During the conversation, Mowry revealed that it was after a night out at The Cheesecake Factory when Hardrict tracked her down to bring her flowers that she first thought she might be in love with him.

I distinctly recall handing her flowers and unlocking the trunk where they were stored. I was mortified and thought, “Oh my gosh, she might never see me again.”

When she reacted to him at the moment, Mowry remembered, “That was when my heart melted.” “And I started to think, ‘Oh, this man is different,’” she continued. This man is incredible, like. Like, he’s so sweet, kind, and generous. And the gifts kept coming in.
