Taylor Swift takes home the most VMAs in 2023, including Video of the Year.

Another music awards ceremony, another slew of medals for Taylor Swift.

The music superstar took home the most awards at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. She had the most nominations going into the night and departed with nine prizes, including artist of the year, best pop, song of the year, and video of the year.

With her triumphs on Tuesday, she became the show’s second-most honoured performer. She’s also tied for the most victories in a single night.

She took home the night’s top award for the second year in a row, having previously won Video of the Year for “All Too Well” (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).

“This is incredible. “It means so much to me that this is a fan-voted award,” Swift stated during her acceptance speech. “This past year has truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.” I can’t believe it’s been a year since I unveiled the ‘Midnights’ album at the VMAs. Tonight, all I have to say is thank you.”

After winning the best pop award early in the show, the pop artist received her 15th Moon Person trophy. Swift received the prize when NSYNC gave it to her.

“I had your dolls,” Swift informed the five-man group’s former members. “You’re pop personified.”

Later, the singer earned the song of the year prize, which she shared with SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers.” As she accepted her 16th award, she praised longtime producer and close friend Jack Antonoff for their first collaboration, “1989.” Swift plans to release the remastered version of the album on Oct. 27, precisely nine years after the original was released.

“We’ll be making music together until the year 2089,” Swift declared.

She earned her third award of the night in the category of “Best Direction” for “Anti-Hero,” giving her a total of 17 wins. This is her third prize in the category, having previously won in 2017 for “All Too Well: The Short Film” and in 2020 for “The Man.”
