Selema Masekela and Lupita Nyong’o parted ways, and she claims that “deception” played a role.

Lupita Nyong’o announced their breakup with Selema Masekela on Thursday.

Nyong’o began her tearful Instagram post by stating that her thoughts were “with those who are deeply suffering” and that there were “much more important things going on in the world right now.”

Following that, the “Black Panther” star said that she had to “publicly dissociate [herself] from someone [she] can no longer trust.” I’m going through a heartbreaking season because of a relationship that was tragically and abruptly destroyed by deceit.

After fully emotionally healing from the incident, Nyong’o stated she had thought that she should “run into the shadows and hide,” but ultimately came to the conclusion that it was important to “face our pain so we don’t spread it.”

According to them, fearlessness is a product of a compassionate heart. I’m hoping it’s accurate,” Nyong’o wrote. “I share this to keep it [100], and I hope that someone else going through heartbreak and about to try to run away from the pain and miss out on the wisdom that comes from it, might find some use in knowing about my experience.”

It’s unknown when Nyong’o and TV personality, reporter, and producer Masekela began dating, but they made their relationship public in December.

Supporting messages for the “Us” actor were received from a number of well-known Hollywood figures.

“Rely on God. He wishes you were better. Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans stated, “All lessons are blessings, even the painful ones.” This will also pass. Warmest regards. As you recover, treat yourself with kindness. Every time I break up, I always think to myself, “Lucky me, I get to love ME again.” You were missed, me. Go make love to you, lady.

Director Ava DuVernay tweeted, “When They See Us, we lift you up with love and sisterhood.” There are wonders all around you. Let us count them with trust and confidence.

“Lupita, you have my affection. Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter said, “Whenever there is pain, lean on your supportive friends.” It is not removed by it. However, I’m here to comfort your heart.

Dominique Jackson, the actress from “Pose,” remarked on Instagram, “Thank you for sharing and I’m sending you so much love and light.” My darling, thank you for giving us the courage. I know it is so painful to have to live your life so openly, to share your anguish with the world, and to explain it even when you shouldn’t have to.

With a shower of heart-shaped emojis, she said, “Thank you for giving us strength.” We appreciate you giving us hope. I really appreciate you being authentic! I’m sending you love, healing, and the understanding that everything is a teaching opportunity.
