The team has its moments, but they move very slowly and never suddenly pick up the pace as Quique would want. Because of this, they have now lost two games in a row.
Tonight, Real Madrid hardly even sweated. The team coached by Ancelotti dominated the contest from start to end. It will be very tough for opposing teams to get control of the game when Luka has established himself as the guy with the ball. On the left, Vinicius was a constant menace. This evening, Djene will experience nightmares. His second half, though, was not as strong, as if the squad was unwilling to assault.
For the Merengues, the Champions League was undoubtedly on their minds. They played with the vigor of a squad trying to avoid injury and just control the ball in the second half. With the World Cup approaching and the Champions League in addition to the El Clásico the next week, Ancelotti did not appear satisfied with the performance. It is typical to assume that they engaged the hand break while playing.
