Ronaldo will quit Manchester United immediately.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United was revealed Tuesday.

In a short statement, United claimed the decision was mutually agreed upon a week after Ronaldo’s explosive TV appearance.

“The club appreciates him for his enormous contribution during two seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 games, and wishes him and his family well,” the statement read.

Everybody at Manchester United is focused on sustaining the team’s improvement under Erik ten Hag and delivering success on the field.

Ronaldo is with the Portugal national team in Qatar for the World Cup and indicated Monday that his previous statements regarding United won’t hinder their focus.

In an interview with Piers Morgan for TalkTV before the World Cup, Ronaldo said United deceived him and he has no respect for them Hag.

Ronaldo’s second stint at United ends acrimoniously and disappointingly after scoring just once in 10 Premier League games this season.

Ten Hag has mostly used him as a substitute, and he refused to play against Tottenham Hotspur last month, instead going down the tunnel.

This may be Ronaldo’s last World Cup, and it’s unknown which team will sign him for the rest of the season.

When he joined United in 2003, Ronaldo went from a tricky winger to a world-class player.

He won the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, and his first Ballon d’Or before joining Real Madrid in 2009.

Ronaldo’s return to United from Juventus was welcomed with tremendous excitement by the club’s fans, but his second stint at Old Trafford failed to equal his first as United completed the season trophy-less.

“After talks with Manchester United, we’ve decided to leave our contract early,” Ronaldo remarked.

I adore Manchester United and the supporters, and that won’t change. However, I want a new challenge. I wish the squad well for the rest of the season and beyond.
