At the Mestalla on Saturday, Real Madrid was left fuming when the referee sounded the full-time whistle to conclude an ugly 2-2 draw with Valencia, ruling out a late goal by Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham headed in a cross from Brahim Díaz, although the game had ended seconds earlier when referee Jesús Gil Manzano blew the whistle, which led to a brawl between the sides as Madrid players encircled the official.

The referee gave Bellingham a red card for his response.
Earlier in the La Liga match, Vinícius Júnior scored twice to help Real Madrid rally from a two-goal deficit and secure a 2-2 draw.
It was the first time that Madrid and Vinícius had returned to the Mestalla since the striker from Brazil was subjected to racist taunts from supporters on May 21 of last year, after his dismissal from the game, which Madrid lost 1-0.
Although there were no instant reports of more racial taunts aimed at him on Saturday, a sizable portion of the audience did vociferate “Vinícius is stupid” and boo him nonstop.
Vinícius raised his fist to the Valencia supporters behind the goal after his first goal. He cupped his ears after his equalizer, perhaps requesting more from the supporters who were jeering him.
“Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, stated that Vinícius had a great game.” “Despite being more productive inside the region than outside of it, he was crucial for us. He had to find his spots inside the area since (Defense Dimitri) Foulquier performed a terrific job guarding him, and he scored two crucial goals for us.”
In the 27th minute, Hugo Duro scored with a header to give the home team the lead. Three minutes later, Roman Yaremchuk extended Valencia’s lead by taking advantage of a poor error committed by Madrid defender Dani Carvajal.
In stoppage time in the first half, Vinícius cut the deficit with a close-range strike. In the 76th minute, he equalized the score with a thunderous header.
After a VAR review revealed that Real Madrid defender Fran García had not fouled Duro, the referee reversed his decision, giving Valencia the impression that they had been given a penalty in stoppage time.
After Aurélien Tchouaméni collided with Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby in the closing minutes, the defender seemed to have suffered a leg injury and was taken out on a stretcher.
Madrid now has 66 points, seven more than second-place Girona, who play at Mallorca on Sunday. Girona is in second position in the rankings. Barcelona has 57 points, third place.
