The player rankings between Tottenham and Chelsea, who squared off under the lights on Monday, are indicative of an intense London derby.

Spurs under Ange Postecoglou lost for the first time this season after taking an early lead thanks to Dejan Kulusevski. In a game of pure mayhem, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven were substituted, while Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were both sent off.

Guglielmo Vicario: 10-The losing team did not deserve to be there. heroic saves all through and spent the whole of the second half sweeping. Fantastic.

Pedro Porro: 7 – Sterling gave Pedro a fairly rough first half, but Pedro bounced back and produced some excellent defensive covering runs in the second half. Added some outstanding crosses as well.

Cristian Romero: 3 – Two yellow cards should have been given. was fortunate to escape punishment after lashing out at Colwill early in the half. It was appropriate for him to be dismissed for going all in on Fernandez. Again, he lost his mind at a critical time.

Micky van de Ven: 6-His hamstring pinged as he ran back towards his own goal, but he was still managing. A terrible time for the youthful, excellent-season Dutch defender.

Destiny Udogie: 3 – Similar to Romero, he was too enraged and ought to have been dismissed for his early lunge at Sterling. After lunging in during the second half, he was given a second yellow card.

Yves Bissouma: 8 – Tried everything to keep Spurs in it, even running himself into the ground.

Pape Matar Sarr: 7 – As said earlier. He worked so hard that he had to be substituted off. Amazing driving manoeuvres from the middle.

Dejan Kulusevski: 8 – Son, Maddison, and he were all fire early on as he scored the first goal and held the ball up well.

James Maddison: 6-He faded and took a knock after making a couple excellent passes early in the game. replaced after the penalty and red card ruling.

Brennan Johnson: 6 – Son crossed the goal line after some excellent runs early on, but the latter was offside. replaced after the red card.

Shin-min Son: Five. Had a great opportunity to tie the score at two in the ninety-fourth minute, but he mishandled the ball, and Chelsea went on to win.

Eric Dier (on for Johnson, 34′): 8 – Effortlessly challenged and scored a stunning goal that was just disallowed for offside.

Emerson Royal (on for Maddison, 45+1′): 8 – After entering the game, he gave it his all as a left back and center back. Great spirit.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: 8 – Outstanding in midfield and later at center back (on for Van de Ven, 45+1′). a fighter. Removed one from the queue.

Rodrigo Bentancur: 6 – Could have equalized but mishandled a header from two yards out. Replaced Sarr at 61′.

Oliver Skipp: (entering in for Kulusevski, 61′): 7 – Contributed to Spurs’ late-game success.

Player ratings for Chelsea

Robert Sanchez: 6-Until he made a stop against Son in the 94th minute, he didn’t seem to be really at ease with the ball. Excellent low-down stop.

Reece James: 5-Johnson gave him a rough time early on, and he didn’t really contribute to the assault. switched off.

Thiago Silva: 5 – At first, he looked everywhere, but he eventually calmed down. There were definitely some bad moments, even if the second half was much easier.

Axel Disasi: 5 – Made a couple bad passes and was sometimes caught out of position.

Levi Colwill: 5 – Romero caught him and he was the main cause of all of the first half’s outbursts. replaced at halftime due to a yellow card.

Enzo Fernandez: 7 – Helped Chelsea control the game’s pace and recovered well from Romero’s clatter.

Moises Caicedo: 8 – He was the kind of player this was. controlled the middle and scored a stunning goal, only for it to be disallowed for Jackson’s offside.

Conor Gallagher: 8 – Finished the game with an assist and an all-action performance. He was willing to battle, but not too willingly.

Cole Palmer: 8–What a beautiful football player. He strayed, made trouble, and ultimately had a big impact on Chelsea’s decision to go.

Nicolas Jackson, eight. Three goals in the last minute gave me a hat trick, but I might have had five or six. was a major annoyance, but he still has to improve his finishing.

Raheem Sterling: 9 – With his well-timed runs, he turned Spurs inside out on many times, had a goal disallowed, and helped win it.

Marc Cucurella: (on for Colwill, 46′): 5 – Spurs targeted him on set pieces as he was worn down by Porro, Kulusevski, and Son.

[On for Fernandez, 58′] Mykhailo Mudryk 6. Despite not being able to timing his runs perfectly on the counter, he was quite energetic.

Malo Gusto: (on for James, 77′): 6 – Accomplished a respectable job of defending and slotting in at right back.
