Packers vs. Cowboys wild-card round winner is predicted by Deebo

While they wait to face their first playoff opponent, Deebo Samuel and the NFC’s top-seeded 49ers will enjoy watching the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend from the comfort of their own homes.

Two of the three NFC matches take off on Sunday, beginning with the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys at 1:30 p.m. PST at AT&T Stadium followed by the Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions at 5:15 p.m. PST at Ford Field.

When the 49ers wide receiver appeared on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” program on Tuesday, he was asked to forecast the Packers’ first game against the Cowboys.

“You got Dak [Prescott] and CeeDee [Lamb], CeeDee is playing at the top of his game right now, which is good for him and Dak is playing well as well,” Samuel said.

“It’s the playoffs, everybody knows it’s one-and-done, you never know what you’re going to get … I think Cowboys on this one.”

The final-seeded Packers, ranked No. 7, will take on Dallas, the NFC’s No. 2 playoff seed, at home, where they haven’t dropped a game all year.

After falling to Samuel and the 49ers in Week 5, Prescott, Lamb, and the Cowboys began the 2023 NFL season with a 3-2 record. However, they later overtook the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East division championship and the second-best postseason seed in the league.

Should Green Bay succeed, it will play the 49ers the following Sunday in the divisional round of the playoffs. Samuel believes that if the Cowboys win, they will only have one chance to exact retribution on San Francisco: an NFC Championship Game matchup.
