NBA Playoffs: LeBron James demonstrates his humanity by missing an easy dunk in the Los Angeles Lakers’ Game 2 defeat to the Denver Nuggets.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA playoffs, 108-103.
With the Lakers leading by eight points early in the second, James had a clean run to the basket after being discovered in transition by Rui Hachimura.

The Lakers bench rose to their feet, the audience inside Ball Arena held its breath, and the whole world watched in anticipation of a massive King James dunk.
However, as the four-time MVP started his ascension to the basket, the ball slid out of his hands and rolled off the floor into the front row, much to the pleasure of the home fans and the bewilderment of the Lakers bench.
LeBron’s missed easy dunk was just one of several unusual blunders committed by the 19-time All-Star in Game 2.
Despite shooting 9-for-19 for 22 points, the 38-year-old was ice cold from three-point range. Despite adding nine rebounds and ten assists to his stat line, James shot 0-6 from beyond the arc, extending his postseason shooting troubles.
After the game, James pondered on the Lakers’ 0-2 start and claimed it wasn’t the end of the world.
“What you take away from it is that this isn’t the NCAA tournament; it’s the first team to four wins,” James told reporters after the game, remaining positive. “We have an opportunity to go home and play great basketball and hold serve.”
With Nikola Joki limited to 23 points – although with 17 rebounds and 12 assists for yet another triple-double – it was Jamal Murray’s chance to flame the Lakers. Murray scored 37 points in the big victory, adding four steals, five assists, and ten rebounds.
Murray exploded in the fourth quarter, and there was nothing Los Angeles could do to stop him. The guard was unstoppable in a strong last 12 minutes, scoring 23 critical points.
“He had his three-point shot going in the fourth.” Nobody is surprised; he’s done it before,” James said afterwards. “I’m sorry to be on the other side of it, but I don’t think we had many breakdowns when he was doing what he was doing.”
Joki, a two-time MVP, was equally impressed by his teammate’s effort.
“He was one of a kind. He was one of a kind. “He won us the game,” remarked the Nuggets’ star. “I thought he was incredible. Yes, he struggled to hit shots in the first half, but when it counted the most, he made jumpers and effectively won us the game.”
The series has now moved to Los Angeles, where the Lakers will attempt to begin a series comeback on Saturday.
