NBA free agents 2023: Bruce Brown allegedly signs a $45 million contract with the Pacers after winning the NBA championship with the Nuggets.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Bruce Brown, a crucial member of the Denver Nuggets’ 2023 championship squad, has signed to a two-year, $45 million contract with the Indiana Pacers.

ESPN’s @malikaandrews reports: According to Bruce Brown’s representatives Ty Sullivan and Steven Heumann of @CAASports, the free agent and the Indiana Pacers have reached a two-year, $45M agreement. Denver loses a crucial component to its repeat prospects because of its restricted ability to pay.

After Brown turned down his $6.8 million player option earlier this month, an agreement was reached. After initially agreeing to a two-year, $13.3 million deal with the Nuggets this past summer, Brown had a breakthrough season in Denver. In 28.5 minutes a game last year, he averaged 11.5 points, a career best. In addition, Brown contributed 3.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 4.1 rebounds a game.

Brown did well in the playoffs as well. Brown averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in 20 games this spring. In addition, he scored over ten points in four of the Denver Nuggets’ five games against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, including a 21-point effort in Game 2.

He joined the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team deal from the Detroit Pistons in 2020, and he quickly established himself as a solid player off the bench for the squad. During his two seasons with Brooklyn, Brown averaged 8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and one steal per game.

With the Nuggets, where he was one of three supporting players who flourished in Denver with stars Nikola Joki and Jamal Murray, Brown continued to grow.

Brown will now attempt to use his championship-winning expertise to help the Pacers advance.
