Michelle Yeoh marries fiancé Jean Todt after a 19-year engagement; in wedding photos, she carries Oscar.

Michelle Yeoh married Jean Todt this Thursday, 19 years after the racing businessman proposed to the Academy Award-winning actress — and in wedding images, she even clutched an Oscar statue.

Before Todt announced their wedding on social media, legendary Formula One driver Felipe Massa teased fans with an Instagram post about their love life and the celebrations.

According to a programme from the Geneva wedding given by Massa, Yeoh, 60, and Todt, 77, initially met in Shanghai in June 2004. “On the 26th of July 2004, J.T proposed to M.Y, and she said YES!,” the programme said.

“Today, on the 27th of July 2023, after 6992 days, in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!” the programme said.

Todt subsequently confirmed the marriage in a post on X, the network that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Now that my other son @MassaFelipe19 has « discreetly » spread the good news, I can happily confirm the union with the Love of my life, Michelle,” Todt said on Twitter.

Yeoh briefly mentioned marriage in an interview with the Los Angeles Times last year: “A piece of paper doesn’t change anything for me,” the celebrity stated.

“But because it means so much to Jean, it also means a lot to me.”

Massa also shared a photo from the wedding reception in which he stood with Todt and Yeoh, who was holding an Oscar trophy.

Yeoh made history earlier this year when she became the first Asian woman to win an Academy Award for best actress for her role in the genre-bending A24 film “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.”

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” she said during her tearful Oscar acceptance speech.
