Megan Thee Stallion has criticised Drake after he appeared to accuse her of lying about getting shot.
Megan, actual name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, accused Tory Lanez of shooting her after they met at a pool party in Hollywood Hills, California, in 2020.
The event occurred during the height of the Black Lives Matter rallies and spurred debate about the scepticism that Black women experience when speaking out about abusers.
Several celebrities, notably Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, expressed their support for Megan “Meg I respect your bravery and congratulate you for speaking up; we must support, protect, and believe black women. @theestallion”
However, it appears Megan is still suffering backlash for speaking out about the shooting, this time from Canadian artist Drake.
Fans soon recognised one phrase on the single “Circo Loco” from his new album Her Loss, which he co-produced with 21 Savage.
“This b*** lying about getting shot, but she’s still a stallion,” Drake rapped.
Megan retaliated quickly, accusing Drake of exploiting her shooting for political gain.
“N*****, stop exploiting my shooting for clout! When did it become OK to make jokes about women being shot? You n*****, particularly RAP N*****, ARE LAME! Ready to boycott shoes and clothing, but when a black lady claims one of your homeboys mistreated her, the dog piles on her “She utilised Twitter.
“And when the mf facts come out, remember all y’all h** a** fave rappers that stood behind a N**** who SHOT A FEMALE,” she wrote in another tweet.
She concluded her Twitter diatribe by saying: “People criticise me, and you all get up for it, and I defend myself now that I’m doing too much…
It never stops, and this did NOT happen until I came out and claimed I was shot…
If you don’t fwm, cool f***it bye.”
