At the end of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday, Mariah Carey ushered in the Christmas spirit with a performance of “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Her dress was definitely appropriate for the occasion, since it was holiday-themed.
The singer, who is 52 years old, appeared at the event in a brilliant red tulle gown designed by Cristian Siriano, which had a dramatic mermaid form and a pencil skirt.
She completed the ensemble with a glittering tiara and an umbrella that was beaded and rhinestone-studded.
Fans were raving about how extravagant Carey’s outfit was for the performance, which marked the beginning of the Christmas season in a formal way.

During the performance, Carey was joined onstage by her twins Moroccan and Monroe, who are 11 years old and whom she shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. Despite the fact that she absolutely stole the event, Carey was recently disqualified from holding the title of “Queen of Christmas” after her attempt to register the moniker as a trademark was unsuccessful.
