Lostprophets Ian Watkins , a singer and convicted paedophile, was stabbed in prison.

FORMER LOSTPROPHETS SINGER and convicted paedophile Ian Watkins was stabbed many times after being kept hostage by fellow prisoners in the British jail where he is presently serving a 29-year term for sex offences against minors.

Watkins was hospitalised after the incident, with injuries that Sky News stated were “not life-threatening.” According to their investigation, Watkins was kidnapped Saturday morning by three other convicts, resulting in a six-hour standoff with prisons personnel during which Watkins was severely stabbed and abused by the inmates.

(However, The Mirror reported that Watkins’ injuries are “life-threatening,” with a source telling the British newspaper that “there are worries he may die. If he lives, he will have been very fortunate.”)

“Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Saturday at HMP Wakefield,” a Prison Service spokeswoman stated in a statement. We are unable to speak more while the police do their investigation.”

Watkins is presently serving a 29-year jail term for a slew of terrible sex offences, including raping a child under the age of 13, conspiring to rape a one-year-old newborn girl, and possessing child pornography. (During the trial, it was discovered that Watkins’ computer’s password for encrypted data was “I FUK KIDZ.”)

He is serving his term in England’s HMP Wakefield, called the “Monster Mansion” because of its occupants, who include serial murders, murderers, and paedophiles.

Prior to his convictions, Watkins was the vocalist and songwriter for the Welsh alt-metal band Lostprophets, which had four Top 10 albums in the United Kingdom, including 2012’s Weapons, which was released two months before Watkins’ arrest in June 2012. In December 2013, he was found guilty and punished.

Watkins was sentenced to an extra ten months in jail in 2019 when a mobile phone was discovered in his possession; he claimed that he was compelled to keep the phone by other convicts. Out of fear, Watkins refused to divulge which convicts handed him the phone while contesting the accusations, stating he was locked up among “murderers, mass murderers, rapists, paedophiles, serial killers – the worst of the worst.”
