Liverpool stage a spectacular comeback tie to end Arsenal’s championship challenge.

Liverpool came from two goals behind to tie 2-2 with Premier League leaders Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday thanks in large part to a late Roberto Firmino header.
After goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus in the first half were cancelled out by goals from Mohamed Salah and Firmino, Arsenal moved six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City. The outcome makes Arsenal’s title-decidating match against City on April 26 more important since Pep Guardiola’s team has a game in hand over the league leaders.

Despite the fact that manager Mikel Arteta played for the London club in that encounter in September 2012, when Arsenal last triumphed at Anfield, they got off to a fast start and took the lead via Martinelli on minute eight.
In response to Bukayo Saka’s ferocious advance, Virgil van Dijk turned Jesus’ ball into Martinelli’s path. The Brazil winger maintained his calm and poked the ball underneath the moving Alisson under pressure from the Liverpool defence line that was regaining its composure.
As Jesus increased their advantage after 28 minutes, the Premier League leaders seemed to have put their Anfield curse behind them.
To grab Granit Xhaka’s pursuing ball, Martinelli sprinted past Trent Alexander-Arnold. He took advantage of a gap in the defence to whip in a right-footed cross that perfectly hit Jesus on the head. Jesus then aimed his attempt beyond Alisson to help Arsenal’s championship hopes.

Firmino headed in Alexander-Arnold’s floating cross as Klopp’s team kept up the pressure to end Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League.
As Liverpool continued to press for the game-winning goal late into stoppage time, Arteta’s team was forced to depend on heroic goalkeeping from Ramsdale and last-ditch defence to stay within striking distance of second-placed City.
I can’t seem to decide whether I should be glad or not, Klopp stated. “Drawing is not a difficulty for me. Although Arsenal played well, they might have and should have lost this game. For them, the argument is stronger.
“The goal we scored was a huge assistance. We were suddenly in command of a wild animal. At least one point was due to us.
Liverpool’s winless streak now stands at five games, and the Merseyside team is still in ninth place in the Premier League.
