Live coverage of Arsenal vs. Newcastle: Premier League results and reactions as Saka scores in a decisive Gunners victory

Arsenal easily defeated Newcastle to move two points off the top of the Premier League standings. This was just another catastrophic Arsenal loss. The Gunners comfortably defeated Eddie Howe’s team at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, winning 4-1 in the late kickoff after thrashing West Ham and Burnley away from home.
Sven Botman’s own goal put them up, and goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Jakub Kiwior completed yet another impressive performance from Mikel Arteta’s team. However, a late header from the returning Joe Willock destroyed yet another clean sheet.

They are now within two points of leaders Liverpool and only one point behind Manchester City in second place after the victory, which comes after a heartbreaking late defeat in their Champions League last-16 match against Porto on Wednesday.
Because of their recent string of high-scoring performances—they have won their previous three games by a combined score of 15-1—Arsenal has the greatest goal differential in the league.

Arsenal shatters Newcastle’s strategy to exact the sweetest retribution.

Pointing at Fabian Schar was Kieran Trippier. Loris Karius was gestured to by Fabian Schar. Tino Livramento was pointed out by Loris Karius. Sven Botman was pointed out by everybody. Just to have something to do, Bruno Guimaraes kicked something in red. Eddie Howe stood on the touchline, hands on his hips. Jason Tindall stood over Howe’s shoulder, hands on hips, whispered in Howe’s ear. Newcastle has a disjointed strategy. Arsenal thrashed, this was no match.
Arsenal, however, was superb. With their sixth straight Premier League victory, Mikel Arteta’s team moved two points off the top spot. They took the anger of their November loss at St. James’ Park and the anguish of their loss in Porto on Wednesday night. Arsenal were fierce and aggressive under the Emirates lights, with their offensive play being of the highest caliber and accuracy matching their labor and effort off the ball in subduing Newcastle. beyond an absolutely dominant first forty-five minutes, Arsenal finally had some breathing room with Bukayo Saka’s weaving third goal beyond the hour mark.
Arsenal’s obvious enjoyment of the fact that Arteta’s team not only defeated Newcastle but utterly crushed them was evident. Because Arsenal wanted the game to be played just in the Newcastle half, Martin Odegaard turned and yelled in the evisceration after pursuing Guimaraes into his own box and sent the Brazilian tumbling to the ground as he blocked his clearing. Such a matchup could have worked for Newcastle last season, when they had the greatest defense in the league and could shut out the hosts when they were to the Emirates. However, Newcastle is not the same team, and their injury situation is becoming less of an excuse.
