The Freaky Friday actress, 36, and her husband Bader Shammas have had a baby boy, a spokeswoman for the actress confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday.
Son Luai — an Arabic name that means “shield or protector” — was born in Dubai, however his specific birth date has not been disclosed at this time.
“Lindsay Lohan and her financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai.” “The family is ecstatic,” the spokesperson tells PEOPLE.
In a June interview with Allure, the Mean Girls star discussed how she plans to manage her job and motherhood.
“I can’t wait to see what the feeling is like and what it’s like to just be a mum,” Lohan told the site. “Happy tears.” That’s simply who I am. It’s definitely baby emotion now. It’s overwhelming in a nice way.”
Lohan stated that she has some guidance in that area, stating, “I spoke to Jamie Lee Curtis recently, and she was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you, and everything will be fine.’”
PEOPLE recently spoke with the actress’s mother, Dina Lohan, about the wonderful news, and she said that her daughter had always desired to be a mother.
“Lindsay has always loved kids because I love kids and my mother loves kids; I’m one of four,” Dina said. “Because we have a large family, she has always wanted children.” And she’s quite maternal. Isabelle, her niece, just rushes to her when she sees her.”
Dina said that the time is “perfect” for Lohan and her hubby. “She’d been trying, and then that little stick came up positive,” she revealed. “It’s the right time for her, and Bader is an angel.” Her spouse is wonderful, and they are overjoyed. They’re just pleased and eager.”
