Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, a descendant of Robert De Niro, has passed away, according to Drena De Niro.
The 51-year-old actress posted a picture of her 19-year-old son with the news on social media on Sunday.
The caption was “My beautiful sweet angel,” according to Drena De Niro. Since the first time I felt you in my womb, I have loved you indescribably.
In a statement sent to USA TODAY on Monday by his manager Stan Rosenfield, Robert De Niro said that he is “deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo.”
“Thank you very much for your sympathies from everyone. We would want some space to mourn Leo’s passing, he stated.
Rosenfield also shared a statement made by Drena De Niro to USA TODAY on Monday. “We said our dear son Leo farewell with unimaginable shock and anguish. We appreciate the love and support that have been shown to us, and we respectfully want some space to mourn this unbearable loss right now.
Leandro died, but no more information was known at the time.
Drena De Niro referred to her kid as “my joy, my heart, and all that was ever pure and real in my life” in a Sunday Instagram post. Right now, I wish I was with you. I want to be here with you. I’m not sure how I’ll manage without you, but I’ll make an effort to go on and share the love and light you gave me in being your mother. I wish that love alone could have rescued you since I loved and admired you so much.I’m very sorry, my darling,” Drena De Niro said, naming Carlos “Mare” Rodriguez, the father of her kid. “My darling boy, rest in peace and eternal paradise.”
On social media, the neighbourhood expressed their sympathies to the family. Lee Daniels, the director, replied in the comments section, saying, “Drena may GOD keep you in his arms.”
Rosie Perez, an actress, said, “Shocked! I’m very sorry! All of us are here for you!!! I adore you excessively.
Lana Parrilla, an actress, wrote: “Drena, I’m so very sad. I’m sending you a tonne of love, prayers, and courage. God bless you and everyone that care for your sweet kid.
Although Rodriguez hasn’t publicly acknowledged his son’s death, he did post a blacked-out square on Instagram in the hours after the news broke.
For Mother’s Day in May, Drena De Niro posted pictures of her son, who co-starred with her in the 2018 movie “A Star is Born.”
She wrote, “A Lil bit of Leo.” “Today was successful.”
In May, Robert De Niro announced the birth of his seventh child, Gia Virginia, announcing he and girlfriend Tiffany Chen are now parents.
In addition, Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46, are the children of the 79-year-old actor’s first marriage to Diahnne Abbot. With Toukie Smith, whom he never married, he had 27-year-old twins Julian and Aaron. He also has two children with Grace Hightower, whom he married in 1997 and divorced in 2018, named Elliot, 25, and Helen Grace, 11.
