Kim Cattrall will return as Samantha Jones in the “Sex and the City” spinoff.

Kim Cattrall is returning to the set of the “Sex and the City” spinoff series to reprise her legendary role as Samantha Jones, “Entertainment Tonight” has learnt.

Cattrall will appear in the season two finale of “And Just Like That…”, according to ET.

The show’s official Twitter account, as well as the streaming provider Max (previously HBO Max), seemed to corroborate the revelation on Wednesday, posting “Secret’s out.”

Cattrall played Jones, a gorgeous publicist, in six seasons of “Sex and the City” and two film spinoffs. “And Just Like That…” will return for a second season on June 22.

Cattrall, on the other hand, will only appear in one scene in the season finale, according to Variety.

Cattrall let fans and co-stars down when she rejected to appear in a third “Sex and the City” film in 2016, telling ET at the time, “I hate to be a spoilsport, but what would the next story be?”

Her co-stars, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and the late Willie Garson, expressed sadness at her choice.

“It’s not just disappointing for us that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but it’s even more disappointing for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie,” Parker told Extra.

Cattrall said in a 2017 interview that she will never portray Samantha again, that she has never met Parker, Davis, or actress Cynthia Nixon, and that the show has precluded her from having children.

In 2022, the 66-year-old told Variety that she was “never asked” to be a part of the spinoff and learned about it “like everyone else did — on social media.”

CBS News contacted Cattrall’s representative, but did not get a response right away.
