KEITH URBAN RETURNS TO THE ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ STAGE WITH THE ENTERTAINING ‘WILD HEARTS’ [WATCH]

Keith Urban returned to the American Idol stage triumphantly on Sunday night’s (May 21) finals programme.

After spending time earlier in the week mentoring the Top 3 candidates, Urban took the stage to perform his catchy song “Wild Hearts.”

Despite remaining behind a standing microphone, Urban brought a lot of enthusiasm to the Idol stage. Dancing, strobe lights, and even some fireworks helped create the tone for the upbeat tune that had the crowd pumping their fists.

Before taking the stage, the country singer told People, “I chose it because I think it really lyrically suits the journey that these artists are all on.”

“Has anybody ever told you that you’ll never amount to anything? / You’re wasting your time following the tail of a dragon, right? But I’m here to tell you that anything can happen in this life if you have that heart, passion, and a God-lit fire within,” Urban says in one lyric of “Wild Hearts.”

That’s a message for all the dreamers out there, according to the artist, even those watching from home.

“A lot of people who watch the show have dreams and aspirations that they’re either pursuing or have put on hold, and they just need a reminder to get back on track,” he comments. “The song is unquestionably an anthemic call to follow your dreams.”

From Season 12 until Season 15, Urban was a full-time judge on American Idol. He has also worked as a voice coach on the Australian edition of The Voice.
