KAWHI LEONARD TO MISS 2 GAMES DUE TO STIFFNESS IN THE RIGHT KNEE

Ty Lue, the head coach of the Clippers, stated that Kawhi Leonard has not experienced a setback, but the organisation is continuing to exercise utmost caution with regard to its franchise player.

After experiencing stiffness in his surgically repaired right knee during pregame shootaround, the Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was also ruled out for Thursday’s game between the Clippers and the Thunder (8:00 p.m. ET, League Pass).

The Clippers were defeated by the Thunder by a score of 108-94, while standout player Paul George was absent due to sickness during that game. Marcus Morris, another starter, was unable to play due to personal obligations.

Ty Lue, the head coach of the Clippers, stated that Kawhi Leonard has not experienced a setback, but the organisation is continuing to exercise utmost caution with regard to its franchise player.

Before tipoff at the Paycom Center, head coach Tyronn Lue said, “We want to be careful, and make sure that we’re doing the right thing by him; even though he wanted to play, we just thought it wasn’t wise.” “He has every right to be upset with us, but doing so at this time would be quite foolish.”

Leonard, who was injured in his knee while watching Tuesday’s game in Oklahoma City and will return to Los Angeles on Wednesday to undergo treatment, was on the sideline of that game.

“We need to be sure that we’re doing the right thing by sending him back to L.A. since he has greater resources for his rehabilitation there,” you said.

In both of his two outings so far this season, Leonard has come off the bench and played a total of 21 minutes. These are his first games since undergoing surgery in July 2021 to repair a partly torn ACL.

In his 42 minutes of playing time, Leonard has recorded a total of 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 8-for-18 shooting from the field.
