Josh Giddey, an NBA player, will not be charged after it was claimed that he had an improper contact with a juvenile.

Josh Giddey, the guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, won’t be charged after it was alleged that he had an improper interaction with a child, according to Newport Beach, California police.

The department stated it “were unable to corroborate any criminal activity related to Mr. Giddey” after conducting a “thorough and exhaustive examination” into the accusations, which The Athletic reported surfaced on social media. The cops have concluded their investigation.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the Newport Beach Police Department said, “We are dedicated to making sure that correct information is shared with the public, while also protecting the rights of all parties involved.”

Giddey was the target of first accusations in November. According to an unidentified social media user, the girl who was purportedly seen in photos and videos with the 21-year-old basketball star was a junior in high school at the time, the Associated Press stated. Since then, the post has been removed.

During practice in November, Giddey told reporters, “For right now I don’t have anything to say,” in response to a question about the accusations. On Thursday, NBC News contacted Giddey’s agency to get a statement.

The NBA had begun looking into the allegations on its own. The league was “continuing our review” of the claims, according to spokesman Michael Bass, who told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the league was aware of the results of the police investigation.

The first graduate of the NBA Global Academy to be picked in the NBA draft is Giddey, an Australian from Melbourne, who was taken sixth overall in the 2021 selection, the league said. In 2021–2022, he was selected to the All-Rookie second team.
