Josh Allen accepts partial blame for the Stefon Diggs controversy.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs departed the facility earlier in the day on Tuesday, the day of the first mandatory minicamp exercise. Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, claims that this is because of an internal issue the company is working to solve.
The quarterback said that although he and Diggs do not have a personality conflict, they might have played better in the previous campaign. Allen gave a few ideas of what the Bills can do to assist Diggs, such as “incorporating him a little bit better in what we’re doing here” and “getting him the ball or getting more involved in the game plan.”

Although Allen said that it’s more than just football and is about “teamwork,” he also accepted some responsibility for the issue by acknowledging that “there are things that I could do better to help out with this process and try to get him back here and be the Buffalo Bill that he’s meant to be.”
Allen said, “I think maybe we’re just not communicating with everything as an organisation in the right manner. I’m only attempting to communicate while hearing him out, to reiterate. And as I said, please try to transmit this as quickly and delicately as you can.
The two did speak on Tuesday, according to Allen, and the quarterback downplayed the wide receiver’s absence since it was still early in the season and just June. Diggs’ absence from practise at this time of year, in the words of pass rusher Von Miller, is “really not that serious,” and both players expressed their appreciation and support for the wide receiver.
He’s my man, Stef,” said Allen. I apologise. I just love him. He is a sibling of mine. He is essential to the success of what we are attempting to do here. We would have loved for him to be in this room and on the field with us, but I’ll always have his back. And once again, I have no confidence that we will identify the root of the issue. I just love him. I can’t say it strongly enough.
Sean McDermott, the coach, mentioned Diggs’ absence before to training and voiced his “very, very concern” about it. The odd day began at this point. Allen said that the response was “typical of a head coach. It is clear that he wants everyone to be here.
The Bills and Diggs’ agent, Adisa Bakari, spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter and said that Diggs was present on Tuesday morning. According to Bakari, Diggs had his physical, spoke with McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane during the past two days, and “will be there for the entirety of the minicamp.”
Before Tuesday’s practise, Diggs reportedly left the facility, according to the Bills. He missed all of the team’s practise sessions on the outer pitch of the facility. On Wednesday and Thursday, the team will also practise. The wide receiver did not skip any club OTAs that were voluntary.
In particular, a player of Stef’s quality, McDermott added, “you’d love to have those players here when players miss.” I’m thus satisfied with the lads’ overall effort and attendance.
McDermott won’t talk to the media once again before training camp.
Diggs signed a four-year, $96 million contract last summer, and his sale would incur a significant dead cap hit, including $13.2 million this year.
After the team’s January playoff loss to the Bengals, which included the Buffalo offense’s worst game of the season, Diggs was clearly upset to see Allen sitting on the bench. Diggs left without addressing the press. This summer, Diggs’ tweets have sometimes drawn attention for being ambiguous about his time working for the group, although that is not uncommon.
Diggs’ performance declined in the second half of the 2022 campaign. Through the first nine games of the season, he was on pace for a statistically better season than any other in his career with 72 receptions on 98 targets for 985 yards and seven touchdowns. Diggs scored four touchdowns on 47 receptions on 74 targets in the nine games that followed, including the playoffs.
Diggs has amassed 1,200+ receiving yards in each of his three seasons with the Bills. Overall, he has 29 touchdowns to his credit. The most completions (338) by a quarterback-receiver combo in the NFL since 2020 have been made by Allen and Diggs during the past three seasons. Last week, Beane said that “everyone will be here.” I have not received any different information.
Below Diggs in the wide receiver room are Gabe Davis, Trent Sherfield, Deonte Harty, and Khalil Shakir. This year, the Bills picked tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first round.
