Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos

Jay-Z and Jeff Bezos Might Buy an NFL Team Together

Prior to the establishment of the planned joint venture, the wealthy businessmen had already been active participants in the sports sector.

There is a possibility that the Washington Commanders will have a new owner in the not-too-distant future, or possibly two new owners.

It has been claimed that billionaire businessmen Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z are apparently contemplating the prospect of making a joint offer to acquire an NFL franchise. The information was provided by two people who are acquainted with the matter.

According to CBS, the Amazon entrepreneur has shown interest in purchasing the team as far back as 2019, and this desire continues to this day.

And it would appear that Dan Snyder, who along with his wife Tanya Snyder has been a co-owner of the company for the past 23 years, may at long last be prepared to sell their stake in the company. According to a report that was published earlier this week in The Wall Street Journal, the Snyder family is rumoured to have retained the services of Bank of America to study “potential agreements.”

Both Jay-Z and Bezos are well-known for their participation in the sports industry. Bezos initiated a profitable streaming partnership with the NFL at the beginning of this year; Jay-Z was a former co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets, and his company, Roc Nation Sports, represents multiple NFL players.

The Commanders are ranked as the sixth most valuable club in the National Football League according to Forbes, who determined that their value to be $5.6 billion (NFL).

The investigation into the various allegations of sexual harassment that have been levelled against team officials and even against Dan Snyder himself, as well as the investigation into the financial mismanagement, both come at the same time as the announcement of the potential sale of the club.
