Jana Kramer and her Scottish football coach partner Allan Russell get engaged after six and a half months of dating.
Kramer revealed her news on an edition of her Whine Down podcast on Thursday (May 25), as well as some information about how the proposal went down. Russell chose a lovely, close-to-home proposal that involved Kramer’s two children, 7-year-old daughter Jolie and 4-year-old son Jace.
“He took me and the kids and said, ‘It’s a beautiful night, let’s go for a walk and walk up to the new house,’” Kramer recalls.
The singer’s new house is now under development and is expected to be completed in August. When they arrived at the new home, the kids raced about and went up to inspect their soon-to-be rooms before the family gathered on the front porch.
“It was a really beautiful night, and we were all sitting on the front porch steps, looking out at the view,” she says. “He said my name, and I got up, and then he got down on one knee.”
The singer’s daughter was instantly aware of what was going to occur. “Jolie began leaping up and down. “It was the cutest thing ever,” Kramer recalls.
The singer claims she “kinda blacked out” during the proposal. “And then we both started crying.” It seemed quite poignant, occurring on the front porch of the new home. “New beginnings,” she reflects. “It just felt right.”
Kramer initially presented Russell to fans in late January. Her new fiancé is a former professional football player who now works as a coach for the English Football League’s Norwich City Football Club. The pair made their red carpet debut at the 2023 iHeartRadio Awards in March.
Kramer divorced Mike Caussin, the father of her two children, in April 2021. The pair had previously separated in 2016 owing to Caussin’s adultery, but they reconnected for many years after that.
