Jamie Foxx Declares That He Is ‘Coming Back’ From Hospitalisation

Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor and Grammy-winning musician, announced in an Instagram video that he might return to work after being hospitalised in April with an unidentified ailment.

“I know a lot of people were waiting, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man,” Foxx stated, adding, “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

Foxx did not divulge his diagnosis in the video, which was released early Saturday am Eastern time, but he did say that he “went to hell and back” and had to fight “potholes” on his journey to recovery.

“But I’m coming back, and I’m able to work,” he said in the video.

Foxx, 55, broke a period of relative quiet and extensive curiosity about his health that started when he encountered a “medical complication,” according to a now-deleted message put on Instagram by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, according to numerous news agencies.

“Fortunately, he is already on his way to recovery due to quick action and great care,” according to the statement, which was issued on April 12.

Foxx claimed his family kept information about his illness “airtight” in the months after his hospitalisation, which heightened fan worry and conjecture online.

Some media sites reported in May that Foxx’s family had been “preparing for the worst.” His daughter, on the other hand, promptly denied the rumours, claiming that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks and had even been playing pickleball, according to USA Today.

In response to health rumours that arose during his absence, the actor reminded the audience that he is also a comedian by ridiculing some of the crazy speculations.

“Some people said I was blind, but as you can see, the eyes are still working,” Foxx remarked, crossing his eyes.

Foxx, born Eric Bishop, is well known for his appearances in “Django Unchained,” “Ray,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and he also featured in the Netflix film “They Cloned Tyrone.”

Foxx received an Oscar for best actor in 2005 for his depiction of Ray Charles in “Ray,” and a Grammy in 2010 for his song “Blame It” with rapper T-Pain.

Foxx and his daughter are also scheduled to anchor a new Fox television game show that will debut next year.
