Although a half-court shot at the buzzer was called off, Team Dwyane rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Team Ryan 81-78 in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday night.
Honorary captains of the celebrity teams were Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and Basketball Hall of Fame finalist Dwyane Wade.

With time running out, WWE wrestler The Miz swished a half-court shot for four points and the game. To everyone’s dismay, the shot went up immediately after the buzzer and was waved off.
DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks led Team Dwyane with 20 points and 10 rebounds, but he’ll be remembered for a slew of dunks. Team Ryan was led by actor Everett Osborne, who finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. Metcalf was chosen the MVP of the game.
A WNBA All-Star was on every celebrity team. Diamond DeShields of the Phoenix Mercury was on Team Ryan. Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings represented Team Dwyane. Former NFL star Calvin Johnson and former MLB player Albert Pujols were among those who took part.
In the second half, Wade recruited veteran NBA player Carlos Boozer to his squad. Smith responded by bringing in ex-NBA player Richard Jefferson.
Jefferson worked as an official for one-quarter of a Summer League game in Las Vegas last year.
The game, as well as a 3-point shootout between Smith and Wade, collected $142,000 for 5 for the Fight, a philanthropic organisation dedicated to cancer research. Smith said that the cash generated on Friday will go to the Huntsman Cancer Center on the campus of the University of Utah.
