The first official trailer for Netflix’s ‘You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah’, which will be available on the platform on August 25th, features Adam Sandler and the rest of his family (yes, his biological family).
The film is based on Fiona Rosenbloom’s eponymous coming-of-age book. Stacy Friedman and Lydia Katz have been close friends for a long time, weathering the stresses of middle school life together. Stacy is preoccupied with arranging her bat mitzvah and fantasising about her crush, Andy Goldfarb. Lydia, on the other hand, ends up taking Stacy’s crush, causing the two best friends to feud.
Sunny Sandler plays the primary part of Stacy, and his oldest daughter Sadie also features in the film. Idina Menzel, Sandler’s “Uncut Gems” co-star, portrays his wife in the film.
“Saturday Night Live’s” cast members are also included. Samantha Lorraine (“The Walking Dead: World Beyond”), Dylan Hoffman (“Next”), Dean Scott Vazquez (“Transformers: Rise of The Beasts”), Miya Cech (“Always Be My Maybe”), Dylan Dash (“The Great”), Millie Thorpe (“Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion”), and newcomers Zaara Kuttemperoor and Ivory Baker.
Alison Peck wrote the screenplay, which Sammi Cohen directed. Sandler collaborates with Happy Madison executive Tim Herlihy as a producer. Additional producers include Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton, as well as executive producers Barry Bernardi, Judit Maull, and Kevin Grady.
