In her new biography, Britney Spears shares details of a personal incident that she has kept secret for twenty years.
In a book extract released by People, Spears claims that she fell pregnant by the singer during her romance with Justin Timberlake and had an abortion.
“It was unexpected, but it wasn’t tragic in my opinion. I loved Justin dearly. I’ve always thought that one day we’ll have a family. In her book “The Woman in Me,” Spears states, “This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”
However, she adds, “Justin was obviously not pleased with the pregnancy. He said that we were much too young and not ready to become parents.
CNN is still unable to do an unbiased assessment of “The Woman in Me.”
When CNN asked Timberlake for comment, a spokesman did not reply.
Spears describes in the passage how she was feeling torn at the moment.
She says, “I never would have done it if it had been up to me alone.” “Yet Justin was adamant that he didn’t want to have children.”
She continues, “Even now, it remains among the most excruciating experiences of my life.”
Spears and Timberlake dated from 1999 to 2002.
Afterwards, Spears wed dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two sons: Sean Preston, now 18 years old, and Jayden James, now 17 years old, before they were divorced in 2007.
Silas and Phineas, Timberlake’s two little kids, are the pair’s children. The actor wed Jessica Biel in 2012.
On October 24, “The Woman in Me” will be released.
