In a “SNL” skit, Dua Lipa delves deeply into the diss track “beef” by Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

In a hilarious “Saturday Night Live” skit, rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s most recent batch of “diss tracks” are being connected by Dua Lipa.
During the weekend, Dua Lipa made her presenting debut and fully engaged in the “beef” by portraying Wanda Weems, a local cultural critic, in a “Good Morning Greenville” skit.

“Y’all, these diss tracks are getting insane,” Lipa said as she emerged behind a wall-mounted map featuring images of Drake and Lamar linked by red yarn.
In an effort to clarify the real-life conflict to cast members Heidi Gardner and Mikey Day—who portrayed the gullible hosts of the morning show—Lipa made a funny comment claiming to have discovered a crucial “clue” in Lamar’s song “Euphoria.”
She continued, as if it were a major revelation, “When Kendrick describes Drake as Canadian, that’s because Drake is from Toronto.” (In fact, Toronto is the rapper’s hometown.)
She went on to state that Drake “questioned Kendrick’s manhood, saying he wears a size seven shoe,” in the song “Push Ups,” which was released last month.”
Inspired by the previous “diss” recordings that both artists had released, the drawing was rekindled by Kendrick Lamar’s critical remarks about J. Cole and Drake in his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That.”
Since then, Drake and Lamar have exchanged barbs on a number of other songs.
They didn’t always disagree. Lamar appeared on Drake’s “Buried Alive Interlude” song in 2011 and again on Lamar’s “Poetic Justice” in 2012. The long-running conflict began in 2013 when Kendrick Lamar attacked Drake and many other rappers on Big Sean’s song “Control.”
Lipa performed two roles on “SNL” this past weekend: host and musical guest. This week’s programme, which features musical guest Vampire Weekend, will be hosted by Maya Rudolph.
