Hill excels as the Golden Knights take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.

The Vegas Golden Knights blanked the Dallas Stars, 4-0, in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final on Tuesday night at American Airlines Centre, thanks to Adin Hill’s 34-save shutout. The series is 3-0 in favour of Vegas.

WHAT HAPPENED

The Golden Knights started fast, with Jonathan Marchessault, Ivan Barbashev, and William Carrier all scoring in the opening eight minutes to put the visitors up 3-0. Midway through the second period, Alex Pietrangelo scored his first goal of the playoffs, giving Vegas a 4-0 lead. Hill stopped all 14 shots he faced in the third period, as the Golden Knights seized control of the series.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMERS

Adin Hill’s fifth consecutive victory was also his first playoff shutout.

Ivan Barbashev: With three points (1G, 2A), Barbashev stirred the drink for Vegas.

Jonathan Marchessault’s goal at 1:11 of the first period was the game-winner.

Pietrangelo’s first playoff goal provided insurance halfway through the game.

William Carrier: In the win, Carrier also scored his first goal of the playoffs.
