‘GUTS’, the second album by Olivia Rodrigo, is scheduled to be released in September.

Buckle up in case a downcast woman falls. Olivia Rodrigo, best known for her 2021 breakthrough single “drivers licence,” will release her long-awaited second album in September.

The singer-actor is reconnecting with her longtime boyfriend Dan Nigro for “GUTS,” which will be published on September 8, Geffen Records announced on Tuesday. Rodrigo’s multiplatinum first album, “SOUR,” garnered her three Grammy Awards.

Rodrigo said in a press release, “For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life.” I felt like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20 since there was so much change and suffering. Everything, I feel, is just a natural part of evolution, and I hope the album reflects that.

The first single from Rodrigo’s second album “GUTS,” “vampire,” will be released on Friday, June 30.

Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers Licence’, a pop power ballad that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 and remained there for eight weeks, was released in January 2021. She even had a viral “Saturday Night Live” parody comedy with Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page for the song, which became the first in history to achieve 80 million Spotify listens in seven days.

She garnered seven Grammy nominations as the first Filipina to be nominated in all four major categories. She took home three awards: best new artist, best pop vocal album, and best pop solo performance for “Drivers Licence.”

Nigro, a former member of the band As Tall As Lions, has collaborated on records with superstars such as Carly Rae Jepsen and Sky Ferreira.
