G Herbo Pleads Guilty in Federal Fraud Case

According to the Chicago Tribune and The Republican, G Herbo has agreed to plead guilty in Massachusetts to conspiracy to conduct wire fraud and making a false statement to a federal agent. G Herbo will have two counts of aggravated identity theft dropped as part of the plea agreement. The rapper faces up to 20 years in jail if he enters a guilty plea in court later this month.

G Herbo’s attorney, James W. Lawson, has been contacted by Pitchfork for comment on his plea deal.

G Herbo and five other individuals were indicted in a federal grand jury indictment in 2020 with participating in a fraudulent conspiracy. The guys were accused of using stolen payment and credit card information to buy private aircraft charters, exotic automobile rentals, designer dogs, and other items.

G Herbo’s management said after the indictment was made public that the rapper “maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court.” He pled not guilty to the allegations and defended himself further in the song “Statement.” G Herbo was charged with making a false statement to a federal officer a few months later.

G Herbo has released two albums following his arrest: 25 and Survivor’s Remorse. After being pulled over by authorities in Chicago earlier this month, the artist was detained for unauthorised use of a firearm.
