‘FUNNY’ STORY ABOUT KOBE BRYANT PULLING UP TO ‘TRADE IT ALL’ VIDEO SHOOT FABOLOUS SHARES

Fabolous recently revealed a touching yet amusing anecdote about the late Kobe Bryant and the day he drove up to Fab’s “Trade It All” video shoot.

On Saturday (June 3), the Brooklyn rapper appeared on The Starting Five podcast, where he lovingly recalled the NBA legend as the presenter discussed basketball fashion in Hip Hop (particularly, the wearing of basketball jerseys).

“Kobe came to the video,” stated Fabolous. “It was in Venice Beach, California.” I don’t believe he came in because I was wearing the jersey – yet he did.”

“The funniest part of him coming to the shoot was…you know, everybody’s excited, Kobe’s coming to the set,” he said. So [DJ]Clue said, ‘hey, ask him if he wants to jump in and be in a cameo in the video.’ ‘I ain’t asking Kobe that,’ I replied. You inquire of him.’ So he walked up to Kobe and asked him, and Kobe responded, ‘nah,’ you know? ‘I simply wanted to offer Fab some love.’ Clue, I believe, was having a nice moment and wanted to make it even better. Aim for the stars. But, gosh, that was awesome. “I was wearing his jersey.”

On January 26, 2020, the former NBA great was killed in a helicopter accident in Calabasas, California. Everyone on the plane was dead.

Despite responding as swiftly as possible, emergency responders were unable to save anyone’s life. Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowksi stated Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna was among those deceased.

“Sources: Kobe Bryant was on his way to a travel basketball game with his daughter Gianna when the helicopter crashed,” he said on Twitter. “Another player and a parent were also aboard the helicopter.”

Bryant has been known to travel by helicopter for many years. When he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, he often travelled from Newport Beach, California to the Los Angeles Staples Centre in his Sikorsky S-76 helicopter.

He was a first-round draught selection in 1996 and went on to win five NBA titles, two NBA Finals MVPs, and the league MVP in 2008.
