FOX: Live: World Series Game 3 between the Rangers and D-backs

The D-backs were more than happy to escape the mat and win a split on Saturday night after coming perilously close to sweeping the Texas two-fer at the beginning of this World Series thanks to the gut punches delivered by Corey Seager and Adolis García on Friday night.

It is now the Rangers’ time to attempt to ruin someone’s home cooking in Game 3 at Chase Field on Monday night, as they often do.

The Rangers were simply defeated in Game 2, but as this Series and October have shown, they are always one or two strikes away from winning a game. And they spoke for themselves with an 8-0 road record in the playoffs, tied with the 1996 Yankees for the greatest record for a club with eight or more road games.

The Rangers’ rookie left fielder Evan Carter said, “History serves us well, for sure, going on the road.” “We are completely confident that we will return and be prepared for action.”

Max Scherzer, a future Hall of Famer, will take the mound for Texas against the D-backs, the team for whom he made his major league debut back in 2008. Specifically, he will face youngster Brandon Pfaadt, who has had an unexpectedly excellent October for Arizona.

Under the current 2-3-2 format for best-of-seven playoff series, teams have split the opening two games 87 times. 48 times (55% of the time), the club that played those games at home went on to win that series. The victor of Game 3 will ultimately win the series 68 out of 99 times (69%), in every best-of-seven series that is tied at 1-1.

How can I watch the game and when is it?

FOX is showing Game 3 live from Chase Field right now.

In the US, MLB.TV offers access to the Fall Classic with verification with a participating pay television provider. Live games are accessible worldwide, with the exception of Canada. After the game, full game archives will be accessible around 90 minutes later.

Which pitchers will get the start?

Max Scherzer (RHP) is a Ranger.

Due to a teres major strain in his right shoulder, Scherzer was unable to play in the last few weeks of the regular season or the first two playoff games. In his comeback, he gave up five runs in four innings during Game 3 of the American League Championship Series vs the Astros. He also started Game 7, going 2 2/3 innings and giving up two runs. Scherzer maintained that he had more in him after his two starts, and manager Bruce Bochy affirmed that he had to be prepared for a heavy load in his subsequent start.
