Fernandes scores twice as Portugal cruises past Bosnia.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice and Bernardo Silva also scored as Portugal defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 at home on Saturday, their third consecutive victory in Euro 2024 qualification.

Roberto Martinez’s team leads Group J with nine points and will be hoping for their fourth consecutive win against Iceland on Tuesday. Bosnia is fourth with three points and will host Luxembourg next.

Portugal controlled possession but didn’t score until just before halftime, when Silva chipped in from Fernandes’ feed for his 11th international goal.

Fernandes extended the lead in the 77th minute with a stunning header from Ruben Neves’ cross before completing the game in stoppage time with a thunderous volley to reach 15 international goals.

“I was fresh, now I’m not so much, but I’ll recover.” I’ll relax later, but I always want to play and offer my all. “I don’t want to think about being tired,” the Manchester United midfielder said following his 69th match of the season, according to Sport TV.

“It was a fantastic win; these are difficult games that we have to make easy, which we did.”I’m glad to have scored, but gaining the three points was more crucial. We’d want to compete in the European Championship.”

Martinez, a happy coach, also mentioned his players’ exhaustion as the season came to an end.

“Today was a typical June stage game, complete with mental exhaustion.” “The players were physically strong, and it was a difficult game against a team with very clear ideas,” remarked the Spanish coach.

“We need to be together in order to learn and play as a team.” We need games like these to continue to flourish. We must celebrate our win… Then we’ll consider Iceland.”
