During his last appearance on “Undisputed,” Shannon Sharpe bids a tearful farewell, saying, “I am forever grateful.”

The popular Fox Sports 1 programme Shannon and Skip Undisputed’s presenter Shannon Sharpe made the announcement live on air today that it will be his last time serving in that capacity.

When the programme was about to close, sports commentator Jen Hale said she was “dreading” it before handing it up to Sharpe to inform the audience of some news. After participating in some of the most famous arguments on sports television for over ten years, he announced that he would no longer be seated across from his longtime co-host Skip Bayless while looking straight into the camera.

This is officially my final day at work, ladies and gentlemen,” he said. “Seven years later, Shannon Sharpe and Undisputed are standing right here as the train stops.” He then expressed his gratitude to Fox, his former employer, the stage managers, security, audio engineers, wardrobe stylists, make-up artists, and viewers.

You battled for me, Skip Bayless. You are the reason I am here. I appreciate you letting me share the stage with you. You give me permission to share the stage, the native of Chicago stated. “I’m eternally grateful to you for giving me the chance to become who I am today. I’ll always remember what you did for me. More than you’ll ever know, you’ve aided my development.

When Bayless presented Sharpe with his flowers after his almost eight-minute emotional speech, he said, “When I originally accepted this position back in June of 2016, we had a completely different structure in mind. When it became apparent that Shannon Sharpe was free, I said I thought he could handle it, and did you ever. I want to thank you for committing yourself to this profession, he continued. This programme is a ravenous beast. You gave your all to this work, just as you did for Hall of Famer in professional football, day in and day out.

I want to thank you for never having a sick day, he said in closing. I want to thank you for working as hard as you could on each and every topic’s preparation. The biggest tribute I can pay you is that you were a worthy opponent, therefore I want to thank you for battling for as long as you did with me.
