7:38 a.m. | Before 3 a.m., Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab indicated unofficial election night results will continue at noon Wednesday, including advance mail and hand-counted counts.
6 a.m. | KC, MO Missourians approved Amendment 4, raising the minimum proportion of KCMO’s revenue the city must spend to the police department. Mayor Quinton Lucas said “the struggle for local control of KCPD begins now.”
Lucas thinks Missouri’s courts will be the battlefield. The mayor also commented on Missouri’s recreational marijuana legislation. He thinks language conflicts will continue, but “weed votes show a way forward”

KANSAS
Wednesday morning, the Kansas governor’s race remained tight.
As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, Democrat Laura Kelly led Republican Derek Schmidt by 14,255 votes. Both candidates thanked supporters.
Kris Kobach and Chris Mann are running for Kansas attorney general. Kobach has a 22,699-vote advantage.
Rep. Sharice Davids won her third term in Congress after beating Amanda Adkins in Kansas’ 3rd District.
Kansas Republican Sen. Jerry Moran won a third term.
Roeland Park Mayor Mike Kelly is County Commission Chairman.
MISSOURI
Missouri voters approved Amendment 3, enabling those 21 and older to buy and possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana. Homeowners can cultivate six blooming plants.
Amendment 4 increased the Kansas City Police Department’s budget.
