Darren Kent, a ‘Game of Thrones’ actor, died at the age of 39.

Darren Kent, the actor most known for playing a goatherder in “Game of Thrones,” among other roles, has died. He was 39.

His London-based agency Carey Dodd Associates verified the news early Tuesday morning, posting it on social media:

“It is with great sadness that we inform you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent died peacefully on Friday.” His parents and closest friend were there to support him. In this sad time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family. “Rest in peace, my friend.”

“Darren was not only a talented actor, director, and writer, but he was truly one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting,” the agency said in an Instagram post. It has been an honour and a joy to be a part of his journey.”

Samantha Dodd verified Kent’s age to CNN at the time of his death. There was no mention of a cause of death.

Kent played a goatherder in a memorable 2014 episode of the television drama “Game of Thrones.” His first screen appearance was a decade ago, in the original series “Shameless.”

Other film credits include the 2008 horror picture “Mirrors” starring Kiefer Sutherland and the 2012 fantasy feature “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Kent appeared on television in “Community” and the BBC’s “EastEnders.”

Kent also appears this year as the ‘Yes’ Corpse in “Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.” According to his IMDb biography, the actor has six new projects in the works, including multiple short films and the movie “What I Know.”
