DaniLeigh, a singer, is accused of a DUI hit-and-run in Miami Beach that fractured the victim’s spine.

DaniLeigh, a singer, was arrested early Tuesday morning on a felony hit-and-run charge after police accused her of driving intoxicated and striking a moped rider on South Beach, dragging the scooter for about a block until authorities caught up with her.

Danielle Leigh Curiel, 28 years old, was born in Miami and currently resides in Pembroke Pines. Aside from being a music artist, she is most known as the ex-girlfriend of rapper DaBaby, with whom she has a kid.

According to a Miami Beach Police Department arrest report, Curiel was driving a Mercedes-Benz G550, also known as a G-Wagen, along Washington Avenue just after midnight, speeding and swerving in and out of traffic.

Curiel then struck the moped rider near 11th Street and proceeded on without stopping or slowing down, according to police. The accident occurred immediately outside the Miami Beach police station.

According to authorities, Curiel was pulled over near 16th Street after first refusing to stop. According to the report, her SUV smelled of alcohol and she exhibited “sluggish” motor skills.

Curiel, who claimed she was returning from a Memorial Day celebration, told authorities she “never hit” anybody and hadn’t taken any alcohol.

A breathalyser test, according to authorities, revealed a different narrative. Two breath tests yielded results of 0.145% and 0.148%, which are almost twice the legal limit.

According to the complaint, authorities subsequently discovered an empty bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila in the automobile.

According to the article, the moped rider lived but suffered a kidney laceration and a spine fracture.

In addition to the felony hit-and-run accusation, Curiel was issued two drunken driving penalties. As of Tuesday afternoon, she was no longer included in Miami-Dade jail records.
