Cowboys score 33 in 4th, beat Colts 54-19

Malik Hooker returned a fumble for a touchdown against his former team in the fourth quarter.

The 38-yard TD return helped the Cowboys beat the Colts 54-19 on Sunday.

Only three teams in NFL history have scored so many in the fourth. Hooker also intercepted Matt Ryan once.

After four injury-plagued seasons, the Colts didn’t re-sign Hooker. Last year’s training camp.

Hooker claimed it added motivation. “Sorry how it ended, but I wanted to prove I’m still the player I was drafted to be, and I did that tonight.”

Dak Prescott’s third touchdown pass gave Dallas a 21-19 fourth-quarter lead. Dallas’s fourth-quarter takeaways all led to touchdowns, starting with Hooker’s scoop-and-score.

Ryan threw two interceptions and lost a fumble as the Colts (4-8-1) dropped their sixth game in seven under interim coach Jeff Saturday.

Sam Williams’ TD return on Ryan’s fumble recovery was overruled on review. Three plays later, rookie Malik Davis scored a 23-yard TD.

“Football Gods. Hooker claimed the turnovers were typical. Those guys are aggressive up front. These guys dominate from start to finish. They had several insights.


Elliott didn’t start for the first time in 98 career regular-season games due of coaching “discipline issues.”

Two-time rushing champion entered in the second series. 17 carries for 77 yards. 91 yards on 12 carries for Pollard.

“I suppose he had some discipline issues with his coach, like being late to a meeting or his phone ringing,” Jones added. “I won’t explain, but I’m not issuing that punishment. I’d be lenient.”


Gallup and Lamb scored the first three Dallas touchdowns and combined for nine catches for 94 yards.

Beckham visited the Giants and Buffalo. He tore his ACL in the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in February.


Prescott’s first-quarter TD pass to Lamb broke a tie with Roger Staubach for fourth in club history.

Prescott stated Staubach was his favourite Dallas player when told about the potential. He was a Louisiana Cowboys fan after Staubach’s time.

Prescott passed Danny White (155) for third place with 156 touchdown throws.


CB Kenny Moore II was out after hurting his ankle against Pittsburgh.

Anthony Brown tore his Achilles in the third quarter.

After a bye, Indy visits Minnesota on Dec. 18.
