Chelsea vs Wolves

Chelsea defeat Wolves with ease as Potter begins to work his magic.

Graham Potter won back-to-back victories in the Premier League as Chelsea easily defeated Wolves to advance the Blues into the top four.

After halftime, Kai Havertz made it 1-0, Christian Pulisic made it 2-0, and Armando Broja came off the bench to make it 3-0 and secure the victory for Chelsea.

Potter’s team cruised to victory and moved on to 16 points for the year after making seven lineup changes. Wolves without a manager have six points and are still in the bottom three.

What we discovered from the Chelsea vs. Wolves game

Chelsea’s performance has regained its joy: They took some time to finally succeed, but it was on the way. Even with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling sitting on the bench, Chelsea’s players appeared to have already welcomed the greater freedom and creativity that Graham Potter’s tactics had offered. When they move forward and have the opportunity to score more than three goals, they play with a greater sense of confidence. Chelsea’s players appear to be enjoying themselves on the field once more, and winning three straight games will boost confidence as well.

Wolves in a terrible situation: They were good for a portion of the half, but they lost a couple opportunities because crosses into the box created issues. But that was all there was. There is no real goal danger for Wolves since Raul Jimenez is still injured and because 34-year-old Diego Costa appears to be way behind the pace. Additionally, they lack a management, and the team as a whole exudes confidencelessness. It has been for a while, and whoever takes over will have a very difficult task on their hands to turn this around. Wolf belief is nonexistent.

Azpilicueta and Christian Pulisic had numerous opportunities to score and contribute an assist because to Potter’s effective hybrid wing-back responsibilities in this contest. Chelsea was using a 4-2-3-1 formation when in possession, with Pulisic advancing down the left. When not in possession, the formation switched to a 3-4-2-1 with Marc Cucurella tucking in as a left-sided center back and Pulisic dropping back as a wing-back. Chelsea was able to expertly overwhelm the wide spaces thanks to how nicely it worked.
